Pico8 Piece for Game

on: August 21, 2017, 07:25:22 pm
I'm going to be using this piece for my Pico8 Game. It'll be despayed at x2 at the end screen and needs to be 64x16. I'm still new to spriting in general so I would like second opinion.

The moon curve looks rather blocky, you should stretch out the AA some more. I also think you could add a bit of AA to the Earth.
An edit:

I'd also consider framing the astronaut against a crater or something, so that they don't blend into the moon's surface as much.
I think the craters are a bit distracting, I'd have them use just the light grey. Then, perhaps you could use the dark grey on the astronaut so that they can stand out better.
Here's an edit with all of these suggestions:

How's this?

I kept getting annoyed at how janky that bit of moon curve anti-aliasing right in front of the astronaugt looked so I just hid it instead. I also tried using pico8 indigo-ish colour to help make the earth's shadow a bit less sharp.
