Pixel Art / Title of my homepage
« on: April 07, 2007, 05:31:16 am »
Hello everyone! I have already opened a thread for this subject, but itīs really old now, so I am making a new one (if thatīs wrong, please, forgive me)

This is my lastest attempt to make a title for my home page called Vila Supernova (Supernova Village). The idea came from an episode I read in a book called Neuromancer, where the main character enters the matrix (thatīs right, the book the Watchowski brotherīs based their movies) and then flies above a military database which is represented by a big polished black box.

I have made it in a kind of wireframed rendering and I quite like it (even being very simple) but the black polished surface would be my ideal. Thing is: I have no idea of how to represent that texture since itīs just clean, no scratches, cracks or anything. If you could give ideas it would be terrific! Also, if you want to C&C this one, go ahead, I would love to read your opinions.

Good things!

Nepheus

PS: Itīs my second pixel art  ;D.

Pixel Art / Title of my webpage (first post and pixel art)

Hello all! I have been watching your amazing artworks for a long time and decided to make one on my own.

This is the main picture (or title) of my webpage called "Vila Supernova" I've been working on. The webpage is about game programming, electronics and stuff like that.

I used GraphicsGale Free Edition to make it and used some tools like "Line Tool" but I still think its classified as pixel art, isn't it?
Anyways, I would like to know you opinions, what you would change and so on. My intention was to make it look like an old videogame title or menu screen. I TRIED to anti-alias it on the building edges but...  ... the result isn't really good, right?

Good things everyone!

Nepheus

PS: By the way, "Vila" means "Village" in portuguese.
