Well, looking at the reference, i'd say the left side of the body should be bigger or go out more. (Rather, the body itself should be bigger. the head looks way too bog in comparison.) plus the neck still looks to busy.

i'd also add more colors too the rainbow, but i like the rest of the color choice (especially face/hair) and the general shapes are fantastic.

Nice job. ;)

By the way, what do you use to animate? i'm trying to work with adobe ImageReady, but i wondered what you use.
and can i have a sheet of the animation you just did?

After i drew the orcs,

i decided to do a knight with full walking animations and such. Here's the outcome so far:

credit to Surt for a few of the colors from his knight example in this (http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=5704.0) topic.

I'll change that in later updates, don't worry.

c&c are welcome! :)

Wel, on the second one, you should change the flip-flops to high heels or get rid of the way shes balancing on her toes like that, it looks awkward. at least put one foot down flat.

the shading on her skirt looks weird too, you might wanna change that.

On the first one, the shading on what shes wearing looks funny in general. its not too bad, but it could look better.
As for the hair on either, i can't offer much help other than rather shading the thick bands like you seem to be doing, you should make more thin strands and add more bumps on the outline so it looks like hair.

On the flip side, i like the position on both, the first especially. the clothes look great. plus i like the style.

First off, i think the outline on the hand is a bit severe. You might want to add more shading on the hand around the palm and thumb particularly, and make the outline a lighter color.

But the way you did the chicken itself is great. i like the color choice, and the shapes are fine except for the size of the hand. A bit too big, but maybe thats what you were looking for.

I only really shaded the hand, and didn't mess with the size, since you might have been looking for a large hand.
I hope this helps, as i'm not that good myself.
