Insomnia MMORPG Characters

Allrighty, we decided to go with brushed tiles.. to give it a more new-age feel. ( For those who remember my old mockups )

But here's the sprites.. and i could need some decent critz to fix em up... Im soon gonna post the walking animations too.


And here's a mockup.. If anyone got any suggestions for the shading to make it fit in more.. I know the perspective is off be we decided to keep it like that.

Lovely zombie.

The side view is out of perspective. You've drawn just straight side views. You should be able to see a part of his right foot, and the shoulder should be placed a bit lower. And you should do something about the egg shape of his head too ;-)

Made a rough edit and the figure is quite a few pixel smaller now, but this might give you an idea. I also find his stance a bit stiff so I change it.

Wow!! I love them.

I tried working on mine and yours, but there wasnt much to fix on yours and mine just ended up like yours.. so yeah.
May i use them? I edited them a bit, you'll be given credits as for helping out.

Zoso the way you edited the legs of the edit made them worse. Instead of using the edit, why not start anatomical studies from the top so you will not need to take edits anymore?

Yeah i shall, but i need a quite simple base for the coder to sort out stuff. Im not fond of using Edits since this is supposed to be a custom game.. so i'll make the base from the start for sure. I just need some help understanding anatomy a bit more.

imo, spreading the legs was a step in the wrong direction because it minimized the perspective thereby flattening the character, while the light played off it funny to make him look like he was sitting still

I think that moving the eyes down a pixel or two would benefit the issue with the perspective.

Hey! Great shading,etc! One thing I can add about the animation, in my opinion,  is that the run animation could use some stride. I mean during running, the standing pose with both legs even with feet flat on the ground doesn't happen. I have a short example using 3 unique frames flipped horizontally to equal 6 frames(3 for each stride)

Plus, the arms and legs move at the same time, when in reality they move oppositely to each other. It doesn't look much like a running animation yet, it's more like a walk, but you're on your way. Nice work.

That looks very odd, it looks like his legs are getting twisted up like noodles.
Maybe it's just due to the low frame count, but yeah... very odd.

Ive been working a bit more on it now.. ive been really busy and i havent had time.. but yeah. I know, im working a bit more on the arms right now.. so await more updates soon.

he needs to lift and bend his knees more. and the legs should never be || in a walking animation

ptoing you mean that a walking animation can't include the standing frame between walking frames?

i said that cause this animation, as example includes 2 times the standing position, but not contradicting anybody...

That's exactly what he means, because that frame does not occur in a real walking situation. Even when the legs are sorta parallel, one is bent at the knee forward, and the other bend with the heel off the sufrace

Also, I may be wrong, but it looks like his body is raising when it should logically be lowering; when he puts his front foot down the rest of him should be going up.

It feels like an android, maybe squash the top of the head down one pixel. Uniforms look cool. Greem guy's visor should be different color than stripes on shoulders imo.
