I feel like something was lost in the process. It seems almost like you completely dropped the structure of the character and instead of polishing/shading/whatevering him, you opted for a simple mode with basic colors. I really think this could use some lighting and a little more definition.
If I had to choose though, any of the ones in row 3 are awesome, especially 3D which is my fav

Definitely that asian style of pixeling with the skinny limbs and fat bodies. Love the 2008 versions a lot more, except for the last 2. Especially the fat guy.
I think the last 2 need to be more consistent with the first 3.

Nice! I think it's a bit dark still, makes that reddish lighting on the left side very subtle. Other than the palette, I think it just needs some refining to smooth out all the edges. Can't wait to see it done.

I'm pretty pumped about my partner. Question though, the person making my present isn't the person I'm making a present for, right? So if I was making a present for Lar, he may be making a present for Pep or someone thats not me.
