Though it doesn't answer your question, I feel I should still tell you that the color used to outline the pumpkin is a dark gray tone... so... you should have no problem removing the background.

I would to see the bush (I think) next to the bats fixed. There's like... half of a gnome. Mistake?

His name is Gato and he has metal joints. Beat him up and win 15 silver points. Or something. (Assuming that's the robot you're talking about.)

You don't have to have shading, but if you want your sprites to look interesting, I suggest implementing it. That is, of course, unless you're going for low color count.

The sprites remind me of the Neo Geo Pocket game SNK vs CAPCOM: Match of the Millenium ( http://www.mobygames.com/game/neo-geo-pocket-color/snk-vs-capcom-match-of-the-millennium/screenshots ). The game has very simple sprites, but hey, the color restriction on the NGPC is pretty harsh.

I'm not going to bash the simplistic style, but I will say that I wish there were more to it.
I made an edit, and I hope you don't mind, but I upped the number of colors a bit. There are two sprites; the first sprite, I've changed the feet a little. (As that's what you really want, right?) The second sprite is my own. Good luck.

@.TakaM: I'll be redesigning it and redoing it completely. This thing is too mirrored and stagnant to be anything other than a design. I'll be starting on the new version soonish.

@Werewolf: I don't post too often. If you want to see art stuff, you can always go to http://www.monsoon2d.com.

Update!

See? It begins.
