I was wondering if there was anyway to make voxel art look like actual pixel art. So I started to search the internet, the only one that I found that was remotely close was this, from keo on another forum. I think his work is wonderful and I am just wondering how he did it. I have tried contacting him but have not got a response yet, over the last 2 weeks.
From what I can understand from his post is that he takes the placement data from the 3d voxel art then if that voxel shows on top it puts a pixel there. Obviously it is not perfect, but nothing a bit of touch up wont fix.
I think it would be awesome to use something like this, true 3d pixel art. I can see quite a few applications in game development especially if you were trying to make some isometric sprites.
Dose anyone here understand more about how something like this is made, or have you seen another engine that does something similar, voxel to pixel art?
