WIP: Beat 'em up!

Alright! Time has come to get back into pixelpushing. I've missed it.

I here have a WIP fighting game-mockup, which I will try to "complete" in a few days.
Eventually I'll add an opponent, obviously.






Tips, ideas and crits are welcome. And one of the reasons why I post :crazy:

Added some more texture/details on the trees.
Planning to add a stonebridge going through the opening of the forest.

Looks really good!
You got really nice and clean shading except for the right arm, it looks strange to me.

Sweet looking mockup! Diggin the style.

Only thing I can find that disturbs me is the small piece of stone wall. It's almost the same colour as the trees and it doesn't fit in that well.
I would remove it and add some other natural rocks with vegitation.

Also the shading on the character could use a look-thru. At some points the AA works well, especially the steel blades looks good. But at some points, like his right leg (the bright part) and the purple shading
on his right shoulder ect.

Looking forward for more updates!

Alright! Thank you for the very helpful crits, I'm blind without em.
I followed your idea and got rid of the stone wall.

Hopefully some of the shading has been improved.
Anyway last update for today:

Long time no see.

The scene looks pretty nice, actually. The character reads well against the background, but has an inconsistent light-source. I think this is most notable on the right knee and right arm, perhaps the hair.

Also, if possible, I'd like to see the arrangement of trees more varied? The perfectly diagonal position of the swords is irking me a bit as well.

Thank you pistachio, very good crits there.

I tend to mess up lightsource in almost everything I do. Tried correcting the lightsource, not sure if I got it right.
Also tweaked/brightened up the colors on the sprite and added some detailing on the environment.

The threetop/leafs are beginning to annoy me.. they look.. busy and flat..lol

Damnit that's a great edit! You spotted my issues.. well.. spot on. Thank you ErekT!  :y:

I've tried to correct the sprite according to your edit. Also had a go on the knee issues.

Healthbar and countdown added(WIP):
