Finally, I found some time to continue this project...

I have changed the brick-alignment of the vertical walls. (good point, Mamoruanime)

As I was not sure if the shadows of the walls are correct, I made a small raytracer-test. So it seems like they are ok. (although, the rooms should have a (invisible) ceiling and then there wouldn't be any shadows at all)

I don't know about that lazycow. I like a little quirk in animations.

Well, I took a closer look at the running animation and I have just realized that the frequency of the leg movement is the same as the frequency of the arm movement. embarrassing... But he hobbles! You might say of course that this adds some charm to the animation. Ok, but I think the animation is easier to read without. Here's an edit which tries to address that.

Wow, I really like this attack animation! Very smooth!
But the running animation: I think he should move his arms in the same frequemce as his legs. (now it looks unnatural when he moves his arms so slow)

Hi Mistajaye!

Ok, some hints... I think a live preview is the most important thing for animating something. So, here's a preview. I have reordered your animation frames to 56x65 pixels. The 1st frame looked like the standing-frame, so I have used frames #2 .. #7:

With this preview, you can see a couple of problems: His leg is growing and his arm movement is a bit stiff. But the robe at his legs seems to be fine to me. I would try to improve his leg movements first.

Also, I think it is easier to animate when you simplify the essential parts of the figure first, like this: (and finalize pixels in a 2nd step, when you have managed to build a fluid animation)

Hope that helped a bit!  ;D

So what's the useful plugin you came across, do tell.

 :( The "lunarcell" plugin... http://www.flamingpear.com/lunarcell.html

General Discussion / program which calls photoshop plugins

Hi, I have stumbled over a very useful photoshop plugin. But I do not use Photoshop. Is there another way to utilize such plugins? Maybe there's a standalone program for this job out there? Or maybe some free paint program that can use these plugins? (macOS X) Any hints?

Anyway, I did a big redesign, and am now using a limited gameboy palette.
Is this color limited version your way to go now?  ??? I hope you are going to change your mind. (I really like the style of the mockup in your first post) Voting for colors!!

Does there really have to be a transition animation? Actually, it looks like he is standing on an ice surface and something is turning him. So if you do a transition, I would say that he should just move his leg into the front. (in the air, like a walking step, not sliding on the ground) Not sure what's up with his right leg, it is barely visible under the gun.

The lights in the fire animation give a nice contrast. (A bit more contrast on the standard frames would be nice, too!)

I like the walking animation, except his head. It seems to be too small. Also, does it really have to jiggle?

The leg-movements look good! Some minor things: Is his head turning while walking? Then his pupil should move too.
I would change the color of the green shoes. (because of the green grass)
If there is only one movemode, I would prefer the running animation, because it does look more dynamic.

More creatures please!  ;)
