Pixel Art / Re: my isometric pixel art

There's a lack of colour variaty, shadow and highlights. This pieces ususually make use of a huge palette.
Since you copy-paste the stance of the crowd many times, some of them don't seem to be looking a the band.
Also the stage perspective doesn't follow the rest of the buildings perspective:

Remove black outlines, unless they are needed.
I know there's a crowd of people and you're not going to focus in every one of them, but at least, the band, Spidey, the Goblin, and the ones that are fighting should be a little bit more detailed.

Here I leave you some links for you to see:

Sorry I didn't reply earlier.  :-[ I didn't mean to be ungrateful, just didn't have the time to work on it. Not only the time really, I been spending my focus in reading some "teorical" threads about pixel art here and drawing a little bit more in paper.  :0'
I made some corrections as you suggested:

Old:

Anything else that need fixing?
Something I screwed in the last edit?

Thanks for the comments  ;D

Hope this edit helps:

---MINE --- YOURS

I did some minor tweak in his left hand and his right arm. You draw the hand beneath the arm, so it looked like he was freezing.
That's the only problem I saw with the position in comparison to the reference.
Someone might help you a little more.  :)

When I looked at the image something disturbes me right here, in the start of the roof:

That part of the train doesn't seem to follow the perspective. I know it's curved and the lines I made are straight, but it just to get the idea of where I think that should go.
Right know it looks like he's standing not in the roof, but in some kind of side edge.

If we see the guy without the rest of the train. It doesn't seem odd, except for his size:

I don't know... hope that helps.

Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] Wooden skull

Here's an edit I made (Note: I'm no pro, not even close). But you need to look more to your reference, and if you don't have one, google it. Here's is the one I used: link.

And here is the incomplete edit.

- The shape of the one you made looks very weird.
- The skull you made (something I didn't edit) has three central incisors.
- The skull is looking to the right, but we can see the skull's left cheek/jaw looking frontwards.
- The eye sockets are too triangular.
- The highlight is very strong and seems unnatural. (Mine isn't perfect, I know, is pretty awful  :(, but maybe you'll get the idea)

And finally as twodayslate said, finish the skull, then start adding details/accessories.

How is she missing a part? Do you mean it should be longer, lacks shading, or should be wider?

Sorry for not being clear. Yes, I mean she needs a wider neck. I think.

Pixel Art / Re: (WIP) Tree monster thing.
« on: December 21, 2009, 02:09:14 pm »
I don't think that is a problem. Trees in Maple Story don't happen to be friendly.

What I've notice is that the concept, even without the leaves looks more like a tree. The other one, because of the roots and, maybe the colours, looks more like a rock (in comparison to other graphics in the game). But as it is a work in progress, I don't think that is much of a deal. I'm sure that when you add the leaves that "rock" feeling will go away.

Right now it looks very good. When I saw it, I thought, this reminds me a lot of Maple Story, then I finish reading your comment :P

Also before we go any further I must ask Madhatter, Are you the same Madhatter who hacked rmxp.org (now hbgames.org). If so then I will have to contact Admin in concerns to your past. If it is just a joke title or coincidence fair enough but if you are said same person... >:(
Mad Hatter is a very common nick name (I used to have it in another forum a loooong time ago). I don't think the person that hacked that web would use the same nick in other website.

About the portrait, I agree with Ultimaodin about the skin.
Your eyes need a little bit of correction, right now she seems very sleepy. Also she is missing a part of the neck.
The black outlines are too strong in some parts, like in the mouth. It seems wrong.

Pixel Art / Re: [WIP]Trees related

Any ideas?

Those branches looks extremly sharp. Branches don't end like that, look: old tree.
The base also looks strange.

Google some trees, that will help you a lot.

I've been practicing a bit with some faces (which is almost the only thing I can draw and make something understandable).
And I make this old man:

The process:

I like it so far. I put WIP, but I really don't know if I'll continue working on it, I have a lot to study, a lot of work, and some other ideas, so I don't know  :-[. But I know it's not finished nor perfect, that's the "WIP" reason.
Any comment will be appreaciated  :)

PS: Also, I like it better than my Rabbid Rabbit attempt, so until further pixels  it'll be my new avatar.
