To be technical, they did have a few Animal Crossing character trophies in the last SSB.

Are you going to shade the cloud? I think the penumbra on the cactus is maybe a bit too big. The dithered gradient in the sky needs to be spread out more I would've thought, with the sky being darker at the top than it is now. The antialiasing on the cactus is a bit sloppy. Also, I'd up the contrast by making the shadows in this darker, especially in places like the spray can where it seems to have no shadow.

Is the quick-edit supposed to send text to the quick reply box? Because the quote function does (with the green bar as well). Maybe quick-edit is missing something the quote function has?

huzba, your image shows normal antialiasing. Normal aliasing and sub-pixel antialiasing are different in that the latter literally increases the horizontal display resolution by x3 in a primitive way because it treats each of the three sub-pixels separately, rather than as a whole. Normal aa is only theoretically "sub-pixel" but not literally. That's why I think it's best if the term "sub-pixel" is reserved only for what you call "funky RGB pixel trickery".

Also, "after images" = "antialiasing", by definition.

Even at 1x zoom on a wide pixel monitor, it would only be regular antialiasing, not sub-pixel, since each side flickers from red to blue. If it were sub-pixel each side would stick with one colour (with the red being on the left and the blue on the right in an RGB monitor and vice versa on an BGR monitor).

This must either be an 8-year-old or a fake account. This is too amusing to be a "real" person.

I still think the shadows on the mountains are too light. You've used 7 colours for the mountains but the brown/low sat brown ramp has 15 nicely spaced colours in it, some of which you are only using a few pixels elsewhere. Here's an edit (without altering the palette at all):

In the middle where the arrow is pointing, I've taken palette entries found in the yellow circles and used them to strengthen the mountain's shadows. In the circle on the left, you've used a grey in only 2 pixels! This is why I like mtPaint's palette feature because you can drag the entries around easily just by pressing shift, allowing you to optimise your colours easily. (There are also a few greens which are almost exactly the same by the way). If you slightly lower the saturation on the bridge's browns and alter their value so that they are spaced evenly within the main (15 colour) ramp, then they will look even better when you recycle them.

Also, where the '?' is, you've used a shade on one part of the mountain but not another.

This looks nice, but I think it might be a good idea to implement the lighting in a bit more detail:

I'd try to give the waterfall a bit of whitening, like in these photos. I'm also feeling that the rock's palette could do with some more darker shades.
