[CC[NEWBIE] Need help with sprites!

Heyo!

I am a Pixel-Noob who started pixel art for real, or at least trying to. I am not the best but I am willing to learn from the best and from my mistakes! So my "dream" would be to create a RPG much like CrossCode or any other game like it. I really love the art style of CrossCode, I adore it! So I went ahead and created some sprites that I would like to use in my game. They turned out pretty okay I'd say for being the first serious thing I've ever done. I wanted the sprites to be like the style of CrossCode, not a copy of CrossCode but just the art style in some way. Sadly it didn't turn out that way but that didn't suprise because I am new to pixel art and art overall.

Could any of you give me some tips and help me out a bit to improve and make my sprites better?

When I look at mine vs CrossCodes I see that the one I made doesn't really fit in and is somewhat boring even though it has more stuff then CrossCode Sprite.


Long story short, I want help to improve and make my sprites look better and to implement the art style of CrossCodes Sprite to my sprites.

Please help!

I'm pretty new at this my self but i'd say mess around with outlines on sprites that small. A cool trick i learned is that you can emphasize sharpness of a corner with an outline. by either filling in the outline so that it is 3 pixels in an "L" shape at the corners instead of following the edge 2 pixels in a "\" shape. I'm also relativly new, but I would look at the patterns/proportions which are used in Cross Code ( CC ).
CC has way bigger heads than you and the main character is actually a smaller one than the rest.
Then look at details, like the feet and the sace between the legs. They have some, yours not.
