it looks like it has a few perspective issues, i don't like the leftmost (of him) part of the sunglasses, they break perspective, i think you should make that part smaller than the right one.
anyway, it rocks! ^^
:y:
Sunglasses better now?
I think they should be more horizontal..

Edit:
chaged the sunglasses again.. (number 2)
I removed one stripe of the image, I am now working on another computer and I cant copy an image from here to paint, so I had token a screenshot, but now there is missing a small part.. ill fix that later..

Sorry if I'm late on THIS one, but I'm not sure why people have to use excuses relating to diseases, when it's their skills at fault. I don't want to boast about myself, I've had my fair share of problems, but at my age, I already was able to draw very decently. However, he's atleast made a decent attempt, it suffers from the points others have pointed out.
Im good at english, but I have never had to talk about this complicated stuff before in English, so I dont fully understand the last 2 replys posted.. do you guys (feron and ryan) think im doing good or not?

age has a tremendous lot to do with technical skill, extent of real-life observation, confidence (or arrogance), affluence with regards to culture, and many other things.  Don't worry, Helm isn't a creep ^^.
Lol, I cant imagine great pixel artists can be creeps  ;) (im missing the XD smiley :p)

my mother is a specialist in the field of disorders with expertise in high-functioning autism.  If you want to be able to create characters, she suggests that you write down aspects of many different characters on little cards which you can mix and match at random for ideas, using that as a framework rather than relying on thoughts alone, then if you get used to this, you might be able to chose possible aspects from your memory, rather than "imagination".  Many people who are not as hindered still find this a very beneficial practice for planning any kind of project.  It's worth a shot, i think.

Thats usefull information! Worth a shot indeed! Im going to try that! (maybe vacation is a nice time to think of a nice character! One that could be used for any project)

I'm sorry to hear that, lollige. However are you sure the imagination this is an actual physiological problem and not something you've been told you have/you've misinterpreted you have, because I find it really odd that someone cannot 'imagine' a backstory for an imaginary character. Are you sure you tried hard enough, or are you self-crippling yourself for some reason? How old are you, also?
Odd it is, and yes im shure about it. I can imagine things, but not into the details, so if I would imagine a big illustration like huzba had said, there would only be a start in it for a drawing, and the rest on the information only comes when I zoom in on one piece of that. Im 15.
Its very hard to explain, and there are thousands of books written about my problem, but if you want to have a bit of information:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDD-NOS
thats not very much, but Asperger syndrome looks alot like it, and there is much more information on that..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperger_syndrome

Can we continue on the pixels now  ::) ;) :P

I think it doesn't have much character to it. If you check out the pokemon trainers, they all have at least a little bit of story to tell. Like there's a shirtless punky guitar guy and a wannabe nerd trainer and a wise calm fisherman and an insane cultist and so forth. Yours is just "a guy" It's a bit flat too. Commandeer a whole 3D space rather than squeezing into 2D. It can be tough with such a small sprite, but give it a try. Imagine a big illustration in your head, then translate it to pixel art, rather than designing by drawing pixels. Quite often you need to know exactly what you want before starting with a small sprite. Also don't be afraid of foreshortening and things in perspective. If it feels awkward to do it, the better the reason to try and learn. If there's still trouble, draw your character on paper and then translate it to pixels.

You've already made good progress from your initial dude, and i'm sure you can make it even better!  :y:

Thanks for your reply!
You are right about the character thing.. I did not think of that.. And since this is just a sort of a portrait of 'me', I dont think I can add that much of a character now.. But you are completely right, this could never be used in a pokemon game this way. I have a disorder, witch causes that I allmost cannot imagine things like this.. So 99% of when im making pixels, im just starting with it, and finishing with something different, without any idea's, or story or another form of depth. So drawing could be an idea, but im very bad at drawing.. I have locomotionic problems (I hope I say it right) as well, and I very happy I dont need it for pixel art, since I can zoom in, and change every pixel every time again, instead of with drawing, when you make a mistake you cannot easy correct it..
So these are just fully my problems.. For now ill just leave the 'art' part out of pixel art (like alot of pixel artists do) and focus just on making things nice to look at. Im sorry.

Thanks for your compliment, but im not shure if I can get it better at this point.
