A pretty crappy update since I've spent around two-three hours on this since last week:

I know the teeth look really bad right now - around 5 minutes of the afore-mentioned hours were spent outlining them.

Ryan Cordel: "They're called "Lost Souls", just fyi."
That's the bugger! Yeah - I'd link to the picture that inspired me but it was too long ago for me to even remember where it came from. It was when they were first releasing artwork for Doom3 anyways, and there was a side-view concept sketch for a Lost Soul.

That One Guy: "Looks cool, and I can't wait too see it finished."
Thanks! I'll hopefully post an update on Thursday. I'm kinda time-juggling with work right now.

I was imagining it more of a sorta flying creature so there won't be a neck. It was directly inspired by some concept artwork I saw for those flying... things in Doom3.

Also, I like the teeth - they stay  ;)

I'd be interested to see your sketch though.

That's awesome! Makes mine look a little flat in comparison...

Hello all, this is my first post on these hallowed forums. I haven't placed a pixel in a loooong time and you guys got me really inspired to try again, especially with your 'you can do better' attitude.

Obviously it's very much WIP...

It started life as a pencil sketch I did a few years ago. I've always wanted to colour it in, and I figured now was as good a time as any. Originally it was double the size (600x600) so my first attempt yesterday was pretty awful. I started again this morning at a reduced 300x300. I can't remember how long I've been sat here, but my wrist really hurts and my fingers are kinda clawed into the shape of an IntelliMouse.

I'm using the freeware version of Ultimate Paint, because I used to use Deluxe Paint on an Atari ST many years ago and this was the only software I could find that approximated that old duffer. If anybody knows of a better package to use though, I'd greatly appreciate it. UP is really clumsy with palettes and it's been really bugging me all day.

Other than that, I'd be grateful for any of your expert wisdom in the 'way of the pixel'. Thanks.
