Pixel Art / Re: Get in mah belleh! - Pixeljoint entry
« on: March 02, 2007, 07:10:45 am »
Thank you for your kind comments B.O.B.!

Now for the critics:

Fur:
http://www.uscg.mil/pacarea/healy/deployments/AEWS03/updates/06/images/Bear%20Standing.jpg
My reference was kinda hairy (hippie polar bear? :P) so I exaggerated a bit, but indeed, his hair is not wavy, so I tried to fix that, and reduced the volume of hair.

The lighting:
Refrigerator light bulbs are usually dim lights, but a more highlighted kid is way more dramatic :) Fixed!

Door:
Well, I didn't knew how to really correct this, so I tried to bring the door down a little bit and make it more oval and chubby like.
Hope it fixed!

Thank you for your critics!

Pixel Art / Get in mah belleh! - Pixeljoint entry

Hello fellow pixellers! Thanks to Blick to the "Fat Bastard" reference  ;D
As I take a break from the cultured lady, I decide to make the pixeljoint challenge.

This is the polar bearfrigerator, a sneaky bastard.
He waits till everybody is sleeping, that substitute your refrigerator. When someone numbwalks to the fridge, he EATS him :hehe:

Poor Billy...

"Original" palette - 16 colors

"At night" palette - 16 colors

Any critics, suggestions?

Bye!

I go from "soft and slow", to "hard and fast", in terms of music.

soft and slow
jeniferever
band of horses
anathallo
immoor
klimt 1918

[semi-hard semi-fast]
joshua fit for battle
toru okada
on the might of princes
raein
et tu brute

hard and fast
shai hulud
deadlock
caliban
darkest hour
heaven shall burn

And the bands that fall in between the categories like Thursday, Fall Of Troy, Cursive, Fear Before, Every Time I Die

Helm: Thank you for your critcs, I'll surely try to improve my pixel techniques to try to give snake some challenge. And start polishing my work.  :P

Feron: Thank you :) The craters in yours are amazing, the style is immense, I'd love to see it finished!

Lawrence: Thank you too, and damn the time :/ I'm sure you'd own me good, you are a far greater pixeller than I try to be.
It'd be cool to see this underground facility finished some time :)

Flaber: Sorry I couldn't respond to your PM. Soon after I sent mine, I travelled down some states, to resolve some pending affairs (soon I'll start university, and I need a place to live :P).

Sent mine too. Hope it's good enough to offer Lawrence some challenge.

I guess Alex did it with the purpose of covering some costs (not only with the webserver), because it's only 5 dollars. And even though I think a open donation would be better, he may have his motivations.

He has always been helpful around here, and I guess this won't change, and if his interests are indeed in conflict with pixelation's purpose he's grown up enough to measure if it could affect his stay here.

Yikes, some major injuries in here. The max I got is a bone tumor right above my right knee due to a blow playing soccer when I was 12,
and some scars in my right foot for stepping in broken glass playing soccer in the street. And a broken ilium that healed alone for falling when playing soccer.
Guess I should stop playing soccer
And not related to soccer, a fissure in my forehead caused by a similar case to pkmays. When I was 4 I got hit in the head with a see-saw. The little mothertrucker left the see-saw when I was tying my little shoes.

Very interesting round! This is a first time for me. Never done isometric work nor tiling.

Just 3 questions:

How many unique tiles?
Does height parts count as tiles in case there is a set number of unique tiles?
No ramps or tile deformation allowed?
