Why not do the sprites in POP1 style? Lots of frames, few colors looked a lot better than the sprites in prince of persia 2. Even though the engine is for prince of
persia sands of time, I reckon POP1 way is better.

I think in the third frame his arms look too big. Maybe you could make a bigger contrast between colors (go to a darker pink).

I hope you know those X-Men ones are not pixelled, tho.

I did know it was scanned line art from comic book artists, for some reason I thought it was colored
in some program like graphics gale. Maybe they used photoshop to color. Anyone know why there is
a blue light underneath sabertooths face? Or is it shadow? I'm thinking I should remove the blue light
form my portrait if it is specific to a snow setting.

you can row forwards, at least in a dingy. It think the boat does look like its going backwards  - maybe because of the waves. If the monster had a tentacle wrapped around the boat then it would look like
the boat was being dragged back. IMO it looks better without oars. Wack a sail in.

I think I fixed up the sword. When using graphics gale, If you pick the color of the outline
and slide it up and down (from bright to dark) it gives a neat glowing flame effect.

All I know about anatomy comes from copying comic books (so it sucks but anyway). Your lineart looks great, expecially the areas that are black. I think it can be improved by making the shoulders wider and getting rid of the perspective (how the right forearm is so long). IMO something like this would be better.

Hase: Gas mask sounds good. I wanted as much authenticity as possible, becuase I thought it would make the game better. I've only done the run cycle for the soldier.

Rabidaboy: It probably does need light when he fires.

Edit: The first soldier is going to throw a grenade. I shouldn't take credits for the pose, its based on a toy
soldier. I think there's nothing wrong wit it. The second guy has a famer, which looks just like a stick on the photo i used as a reference.

The Amiga version didn't have that intro screen (which I think looks no good) and had much
better music. It was also better becuase it didn't go to a seperate fight screen (the graphics
there is really bad too).

I think Immortal definately has the best animation (the manual says the
guy worked at Disney). Here's some more screenshots:

Edit: Looking at the first screen shot you can see that the inventory items are really well drawn.
Because the graphics and animation are so good this one should be critqued, theres alot to learn.
