I do think the tail should be longer, but it really depends on what you want this character to look like!
As for the tip, think about what that line through the tail represents, if anything. Is it a ridge at the top of the tail? If so, then you'll need to imagine the tail in 3D to figure out where that line actually belongs. It's not as simple as just connecting two sides of the tail xP If you really struggle with that, consider going the cartoon route and not having that detail at all. However, imagining the character in 3D will help a lot with shading, if you plan to do that.
Maybe try drawing the tail without the bend in it first to figure out the thickness and length you want, and then draw the bent version once you know exactly what the tail is meant to look like.
One thing that looks weird to me is how the tail the tail continues horizontally right after the butt, and then sharply bends down. Try to avoid such sharp bends and use smooth, swooshy curves instead:
