[WIP] self-portrait attempt

on: November 11, 2009, 10:54:06 am
Okay, so for some reason I wanted to do a self portrait, so I tried to do it off of a little hand mirror by my monitor, so no, I don't have a picture just yet, but I think I did the shape pretty well. I'm trying to get down facial structure, etc.

Yep, my first face and I really would like some feedback on it. (As a piece of art, not a representation of my face.)

It's jpeg!

Be bolder with tones and shading. Think about the 3D shape and planes of the head and face. It's basically coloured line-art at the moment.

Eyes look too high.

Not bad Crazy, I think you might want to add a little more width to the neck, it seems kinda thin (unless you have a thin neck lul) and it would make a cooler effect if you added a light blue light source on one of your sides like the effect you would get with a window or other outdoor light source. Otherwise I think it's a very nice for a first-time portrait.

Thank you guys!

Oh, just found out photobucket changes .bmps to .jpgs.

I'll get a new version over here in a second...

Quick little fix for it being a .jpg, I also lowered the eyes and widened the neck.

It does look a bit more like me, and it looks less... funny.
I'll try to shade things more!

Aggressive shading?
