Pixel Art / Newbie Says Hello

Hi all
Late last year I got the idea into my head that I might like to learn how to draw. Two days ago, I got the idea into my head that I might like to try pixel art. That accounts for the entirety of my visual arts resume. Anyway, pixel art is fun, and now here I am joining a community of pixel artists hoping to learn more and make friends. Here are some of the pieces I've created in the last couple of days.
Here is literally the first pixel art I'd ever done. I happen to have a wacom bamboo tablet, courtesy of my far more artistic wife, and so I grabbed that and just kind of played around, did a sketch, did some colouring.
Then I found a couple of tutorials online about how to pixel art like the clueless newbie I am. I found them really helpful. =) (This one is from: https://www.raywenderlich.com/14865/introduction-to-pixel-art-for-games)
After that, I had a go at applying what I'd learned. Rather than essentially drawing into my computer than my sketch book, I did some art pixel by pixel.
Then I became a big stinky cheater and used a sprite template for the game Hero of Allacrost (Source:http://allacrost.org/wiki/index.php?title=File:Sprite_female_template.png) and played dressed up, just to experiment with clothing and figure and shape and size. I'm still working out what image dimensions I like to work in.
Then I made some more art from scratch. This is Twee. He's a jawa who wants to be a jedi.
Then I did something I've never done before, not even working with pencil, and tried my hand at a landscape. This composition was inspired by a whole lot of different pixel art I saw flicking around Google, but I'd be remiss if I didn't point to this one (https://www.reddit.com/r/PixelArt/comments/6r7nub/occc_aesthetic/?st=j605bi61&sh=15d583f7) as a kind of basis for what I wanted to do. While not quite the same image, I basically saw that composition and said "Oooo, that's so pretty, I want to make one like it. After I finished this, I started tinkering with dithering and now I really wish I'd done that for the background for a more gradual colour gradient. Ah well.
All of these were done in Paint because I forgot that I have GIMP installed on my computer. Had I remembered that, I might have been able to go back and add dithering to my landscape without much trouble. Ah well. Live and learn.
And that's my story. I'm going to lurk around here and gawk in awe at everyone's wonderful creations. If you have any advice for a newbie, I'd love to hear it. =)
