I would like... lower the top of the boots a bit. Maybe I have a gutter-mind, but at a glance the top-sticky-outey thing looked kinda like... a...uhhh... 'appendage'?
Lol, didn't notice it before you said it. I'll try to make it less look like an di-I mean "appendage".
Maybe that can help with the shading....probably won't. I think that "appendage" Serena is referring to could easily be trimmed down, as the other leg doesn't seem to have such a steep curve anyways.
I'm just curious, how come it's only outlined around the legs? Also, I'm not sure, but just from a glance, the arms seem a bit too short....and while on the arms, the mech's left arm blends in with the torso, so maybe you can work that out.
The will be really cool if it was animated, so you better pull through. Keep pixelling!
Yeah, the reason the legs were outlined was because with the three colors I chose they were blending in with the rest of the robot. This is pretty much my first problem right now, how to pixel the robot to keep the definitions I did in the rainbow colored version. Your version looks way better, but here is my second problem, how do you choose your highlight color? I can't seem to know what and how to choose a color for the dark areas and the light areas, other then going darker or lighter. Doing a good metallic look needs good color choices.
As for the arms, they are actually longer, they are just hidden by the legs. Here is a screenie of the piece without the leg layer. Maybe I should raise one of the arms up to show the real length of the arms?
What's with the bright red lines? They're really buggin' my eyes.
They are suppused to be kinda like lights emanating from ridges in the armor. But they look more like painted... but hey! It's a pretty red! My favourite color of the piece!
