C & C? It's supposed to be the background for an underwater tetris game... meant to be anime-simple. What do you say?

Well so I am making a game about wolves and I want this to be neat, real, textured, and wolf-like. The front view looks bad and I dont know why.

Loving the character name  ;D

The tiles not so much; (I know it's hard, please dont be discouraged) The problem is that the grass is NOISY in all capitals. You should try simplifying that texture a lot -- and it also doest quite look like grass but like... ummm.... a carpet. The grass borders (buffering they call it?) doesn't give any details about the grass being grass either, and since everything else (rocks, trees) is of about the same tone the grass is, well, I don't notice them much.

Try sharing some colors from sprite to sprite and having darker colors for objects I can bump into (tree, etc)

The dirt also doesn't look much like dirt. It looks fuzzy and very much like the grass. Try making some pebbles for the dirt, or either make it a flat color and make a lot of variation tiles (like pebbles or something).

I hope I  helped.  :D

My critique is that it doesn't appear to be either underwater or out of it. If it was underwater (methinks) it would be a bubbly mess. If it was out of water, there would be lots of foam with all the movement generated by the kraken plus the waves.

What about rust, corrosion, cracks, texture? Plants like to break up structures by the smallest gap.

Are m textures too migraine-worthy? The brown thing will soon mutate into roof tiles.

Rock, huh? Thankyou for the advice -- I don't know why I thought of the tiles as separate things and totally forgot about color recycling!

working on a different, 8-bit tileset. I still haven't finished picking my palette, missing two colors or so.

First try at sidewalk/cobblestone street tiles. Not  very good, eh? I'm surprised the river looks ok,it was almost by accident. The brick walls are recycled from some other tileset and look off. I'm rather pleased with my grass and earth, though.

Missing tiles everywhere.

Edit: My grass looks like the snow. Odd fluffy green thing! No remedy to that other than to try and make a grass carpet instead, right?

I like the new changes except for the cyan in the grass. The rocks don't appear to have changed much, also.

By the way, there's something odd going on with that stream... it appears as if it was just a tiny trickle that poof! Becomes a river... and well, I'm no river expert but it does look weird. Back to the rocks, the water corner might be a little unnaturally square compared to the rest of the tileset?
