Uhmm... are you under a color restriction? Because if not the colors are really blah. From what I see on the sprite, it doesn't look like there is any restriction.

The trees have issues for sure, the foliage looks like its a view from straight up while the trunk looks like a top side view. They also look like failed rips of A Link to the Past...

I think the one on the right is better. They don't stink, but I think you should lose the black outline.

I don't think the tree is too dark or has too much dithering at all. I think he was trying to make a tree like this, and the dithering is the perfect effect for it.
The second one however is too dark, unless it is night or something... And if you want to make games you must learn to program!

I always thought that pink was his hat, not his hair...Without the pink part he's in like a Jew cap. Anyone else share my opinion?

I like the wood texture. But the two sides of the house look a little bare after all the texture on the other boards. The way you have your straw is wrong..you put straw on a house so it is up and down not side to side if you understand what I mean. Other than the roof its a very nice work
