I don't know if it is because of the overhead view,
but it looks weird how his arms move :/

i'm not sure which way i should go with the hands, i've tried a couple of things and i liked this best
this is the new versio:
-changed the shoes
-tried shading the hair
-made the head a little bigger and move it in front by 1 pixel

I like the walking animation, except his head. It seems to be too small. Also, does it really have to jiggle?

thanks for the edit Lazycow! the thing with the head is that the way you made it, the eyes seem too far apar from each other. i'm going to try and cut a pixel or two from the shoulder width and see how that looks with my old head

I like the shifting head! It gives a lot more life to the animation. Without it he looks robotic.
And kudos for making an overhead walk with legs that BEND!!!

The flash wouldn't just be effecting his forearm but the side of his chest and his face as well. Also are you technically restricted to a 32x32 grid for this sprite or is this a self-imposed limitation? I'm asking because I would personally make that muzzle flash bigger but you don't have room to do it

how's this? i'm really having trouble doing highlights on the face, can't make it look good.
32*32 is just something i wanted to have for this sprite/project. I could go outside the border and then just center the sprite on the tile but there might be certain situations in which adjacent sprites have little overlapping parts that shouldn't be and end up looking really bad(hope you understand what i mean). Of course it wouldn't be the case with just the flash, but i think it looks decent like this anyway
