[WIP] New Zelda Pixel Art [Update: 02/07/07]

on: December 19, 2006, 08:11:55 pm

Well, my last was complete crap upon looking back at it, so I pretty much redid it. The shoulders need some work, but I worked on the face for most the time I was working on this. Also, the jewel thing bothers me..so some C+C would be nice.  ;)

looking pretty good. she looks very realistic, even more so than most of the games.

It looks like her head is turned to the side. If someone does this he/she will have a line on his neck (can't describe it :P). Look in the mirror for reference.

If you're talking about the tendon that gets stretched when you twist your head to the side, make sure you don't make it obvious. Women don't have tendons that stick out as much as men :P

I hope I'm not the only one thinking this, but her breasts are very saggy looking. She's not THAT old, yo.

Hmm, good point.

Well, I think I took care of the saggage, but now the left breast looks a tad square. C+C?

Her chest seems very off. For some reason it looks more like a man's chest to me.
I think... Her breasts are very large and rectangular.
I recommend you look at more nude women :P.
Oh yes naked women are beautiful
But I like shrimps more haha ;)

I think this could be a lot smoother, this is how id fix the AAing somewhat, very rushed though didn't do it all..

This is looking great, I gotta admit, another suggestion would be to add in your shadowing onto the hair to bring the two bits dangling forward and the back hair, back.

For the anatomy I think it'd be a better idea figuring out the actual shape of this character, as in not forgetting the legs, even though its gonna have a long skirt covering em, the whereabouts of the legs severly effects what happens to the skirt and how you'd go about shading it.. you may even find youve made it too long.

I think the positioning is kinda awkward but so far your doing great.

edit- also I noticed that theres a few shades in your palette that aren't exactly needed, at 100% theres not atall a difference since theyre so close to other shades.

I worked mostly on the anatomy, still fixing up the hair. I think the chest is better (I pretty much completely redid it). Any better?

The boobs still need some more poof to them. They look very constricted in that supertight suit. make them a little bit more big and round.
Here's my rough edit of how I think you should try making them

Maybe the left's (our left) bottom arch could be slightly moved up, but you know, I haven't slept in three damn days, so stuff happens to ya.. @_@

Yeah, but see...I think that may be going overboard perhaps. That even looks like it could lead back to sagging, and thats no fun. D:
Anyway, I don't think its so much the actual size of the boobs that made them look small, but the lack of shading in the centers of the boobs. Maybe this is better?

At the moment that top is hugging them like there's no tomorow. You'll basically never see an indent between them in the clothes, i don't think, either. I feel the shadow underneath is too short, and therefore they look flattened. Try to worry less about showing them off. Check out some reference pics of corsets and dresses etc.. (leave safe search on..)  :y:

Ok well I googled corsets (and encountered some rather atrocious stuff, even with safesearch on..) but I found a few pictures that were good. Here's another attempt.  :P
