Pixel Art / Cute deck of cards
« on: January 20, 2008, 10:27:34 am »
Well since I've been feeling terrible all week I haven't been able to do any serious work, pixel wise or school.
My head's fuzzy so I can't think of anything to say about this right now. I'd just like some critique.

That's how it is. No homeschooling either.
There's been strikes from students all over the country this year. Unfortunately they destroyed lots of things, so the government didn't take too well to that. If anything ever changes though, I'll already have graduated.

*shrugs* I figured I'd post my resolution to see what people'd say. I reckon it's a pretty rare new years resolution.

Well it's been fine this week.
Unless you've got a better suggestion. You've got to experience the Dutch school system to understand I suppose. Everyone foreign I speak to conclude sthe Dutch government excists out of mindless fruitcakes.

My resolution is to skip school as much as possible. Perhaps even going as far as making up a desease.
It's been completely ruining my marks and health the last two years. I can't study for any tests because of my fucked up timetable - I'm in school for so long I don't have enough time to study at home. Oh and trying to catch up during lessons means punishment, naturally. I'm so completely miserable with my classmates (no, I don't have a social disorder - the rest of the world does) and my teachers that I'm completely stressed out. Even now after two weeks of holiday my legs are still shaky and I quickly feel nauceous. So solution: don't go to school, do make the tests. Unless the government gets on my back... but we'll see about that when the time comes.

To the language guy: Two years ago my resolution was to learn how to count to 10 in a different language each week. I made it to 23 languages before I began to fail chemistry.

To the previous page: you can't be homeschooled in the Netherlands. How unfair is that.

Haha I was going to reply the colours of the new ones are -perfect-. And then I read your comment below it.
I think you made a really great colour choice though.

I don't much like the green/orange-pink combination a lot of games use, to me it always looks like it takes using a minimum amount of colours too far and just ends up with a nauseating blend of foliage that never quite decided what colour it wanted to be. The colours you chose however seem more natural and light to me, much nicer. You can see the difference I mean in the left corner next to the house. I much prefer the whole-green plants over the slightly orange-pink tinted ones, and then especially in this colour. Making them lighter than before somehow adds to the game a little? More enchanting? Might just be how it's projected on to me though.

The light stuff really helped.
I usually don't have trouble with lightsources but the magic threw me off. Here's another edit (don't mind that hand, I still can't work it out x.x).

edit:

How about this. No right hand!
And by removing all the extra blue shades that crept in with the palette changes I got to add dark red and green and still be at 18 colours, which is 2 less than I even originally started with xP
