Need a little help on the hands and shading advice for when I start that step. Also, whatever other crit you can come up with.

I'm not sure about shading, but you may want to take AA into account with those black outlines. There are quite a few jaggies, so might want to touch that up after.

Oh, AA is a great idea. I've been trying to fix up the jaggies with little success, however... Mostly around the purple part.
And nope, not from Naruto.

In the picture your person's hands seem to have small thumbs and overly out streached fingers.The human hand can only have its fingers streach out so far.
I'm offering an edit to show you how I think it would look best.
