I don't think the outline is a good idea, it ruins the nice silhouette you had and looks a bit clumsy.
I also think the ears need a different color to fit the rest.

I like how vibrant it is though, and it's super cute!  :y:

(ignore the idea for the outlines, just something I wanted to try)
I made a rough edit, just messing around..

You can simplify the background a lot by removing colors and detail, you don't really need to use some colors specifically for the furthest buildings.
I'm not saying remove all detail like I did in the edit.. that looks a bit boring unless you have interesting silhouettes.
But having two colors for the furthest background should be more than enough.

I miss the blue and yellow colors from the first one..
The new one just removes a lot of important ramps, like for metal and makes it all a kind of dull color overall.

You definitely need more depth here by simplifying the background and making the difference in brightness more obvious.
It needs to be pushed back quite a bit.

It looks really great though, awesome style!  :y:

Save it as a gif and you can trim away the excessive colors, you might have to fix the palette afterwards though.

Oh, I saw this on Tigs!
It has a really sick dystopian cyberpunk vibe to it! I love it!  ;D

You should try making the canvas bigger, it's really cramped.

I think when eishiya talks about form he means the bigger, overall picture, how things are connected to create a recognizable shape.

Don't be afraid to darken large areas, it can help bring out the form better than if everything is evenly shaded.
Especially with some selective highlights to bring out the most important shapes.

Here is a tiny reference, if you google Vordt you can find more.

Look at how dark it is around his head, it really brings it out. Although it's not the best example of clear form.

General Discussion / Re: Aphantasia - not having the "mind's eye"

I was actually thinking about spatial puzzles like that, it's intriguing how you're able to do them without seeing them.
If you couldn't it would probably be really hard to do everyday things.

When I think about the practical uses for being able to visualize things, I'm not entirely sure how much of it is conscious and how much is just done subconsciously.

Like if I played Tetris, I don't visualize how the pieces will fit once they fall down, I think.. Yet I still know it.
Or if I'm doing an actual puzzle, it's more like I instinctively know how they'll fit.

This is a very interesting discussion.

Ptoing, if you're able to draw objects without seeing or visualizing them, to me it sounds like you're brain is still doing the work, it's just not showing it to you. Or are there other ways to draw things, other ways the brain store information other than visual, like muscle memory.

If you saw something completely abstract for a short duration and then had to draw it, would you be able to?

There is quite a lot of banding going on with the stripes.
But I think the biggest issue is that the shape looks rather uneven and not streamlined.
Partly due to the shading, but also because of the entire silhouette.

Looking at a reference, it seems like the clownfish looks a lot less streamlined than I thought.
But I think the biggest issue in yours is that the back part seems to bulge out.

Also, the light is coming from both underneath and above? The shading is not very clear.

Pixel Art / Re: Studying Pixel Art with Megaman X sprites

Yeah, well it's like you put a layer of skin on top of his helmet.
Unless that's the look you were going for, there is no need to follow the shape of the megaman sprite, because he still has a regular shaped head underneath.
