Pixel Art / Re: running animation

really kewl but wheres the coat in the animation ^-^?

Hey I know why he doesnt have a coat! hes the "flasher" and has dropped his coat in an attempt to flee the authorities. The animation shows him "streaking" to saftey!

BTW, I bow before your animation skills. the only thing I noticed was a little bit of strobing. However, giving that I am not at your skill level, my reply is not really a critisism, just somthing that I vaguely noticed...
youve probably allready read this post but http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=5201.msg62325#msg62325 may give you some ideas on how to fix this.

Commercial Critique / Re: CC Challenge - Dodonpachi Assembly Line

Well, this is my attempt...  I like the design (altho a little small) but the details are lacking and are of poorer quality... I'll just call this a learning experience for me.

I'de also like to note I made a rocket once with the inverted wings shown on this ship. The rocket when launched, proceeded to flip over and over until it finally caught on fire and burned on its descent back to earth.

Pixel Art / Re: A couple grass tiles.

I like the grassier version on the right and cant wait to see how you implement it in your grid system.

The only thing to keep in mind when tiling is that you want to hide the grid as much as possible when you build your maps.
heres a quick edit I think is an improvement but not quite there; with a little more time tweaking you should be able to get it perfect.

The hilt seams to be too skinny "opinion"

If it was intended this way then the sword blade is unrealistically oversized but maybe you intended this? I would widen the hilt by at least two pixels.

Other that that the sword kinda reminds me of a simpler version of the crystalis sword NES.

Pixel Art / Re: Finally, I'm making an AVATAR!!

I know what hes doing.  Hes playing rock, paper, scissors against two other frogs and because hes not very good at multi-tasking, he keeps choosing rock, hoping the other players dont notice. ;)

I guess it may come close to violating ruile number 8 on this message board, but keep in mind I'm not exactly posting it as my avatar just yet.

Also let us not forget about some of our more respected members that are currently displaying animations that also come close to breaking the rules.  ex) crab2selout's avatar has a more "sudden" flashing than mine altho granted it is not constant. Conceit's Avatar is very similar to mine in the fact that is fades in and out. Keep in mind both artists have superior skill to mine which I dare not compare.

What I was trying to achieve actually was the fading effect seen on a classic dos game: I believe it was epic pinballs "enigma" table top. I might add this was their 3rd most popular pinball game. the whole screen was displaying this effect. Even hits like FF3 when a character obtained certain ailments, the people glowed for awhile.

However I actually thought the same thing, and now that you brought it up, I wounder if has bothered anyone else.
I did intend to keep it this way but if its to much I'll just have to change it.

Thanks for the critique. :)

Well, I definately know its an improvement.

All critiques welcome at this point.
My biggest concern is the dithering on my face, I dont like it but it doesnt look right without it...
Downsizing to 64x64 obviously helped.
