Pixel Art / [C+C][WIP] Small top down sprite with running and walking

So this character was semi inspired by Hiro Protagonist from "Snow Crash" by Neal Stephenson in that he's black, has dreads, and has a sword
This is also the first time I've tried making pixel art
I'm looking for any criticism, but especially on shading and animation
