so I made this platform grass and in my eyes it looks OKAY but the earth under the grass looks a little too lined out any help tips?

so I tried what you said and this is what I made of it I gave it scratches dents and a little decay that water part was really hard so I left that out since I dont know how to make that one :S

any suggests tips?

hi all,

I am trying to make the front building just like the two in the background but zoomed in so only the bridge part and the two buildings would be visible.

this all went okey I tried to make plates so the building would look like it has been made fully of plates once again it went okey until I realised that it looks borring(a better word would be empty) not to mention the collors I've used..

I wanted to give this image a fantasy steampunk world theme where only robots lived everything is rusting away and weed start growing till the very top of the buildings but those things were a little to hard to achieve for me I'm afraid :S

and dont worry about the black parts in the image I wanted the base to look good end then go higher!

I was practising shading and tried using an concept art from the internet its supposed to be steampunk:



so I tried to replicate it in paint with a few changes here and there and I want opinions about it!

the hardest thing for me are the collors and some shapes(wich failed in my opinion)
because that cylinder where the door is in looks rectangular the collors of the bricks dont match up with the yellowish cement covering the bricks and I had a little trouble with the shadows and the shiny objects, and the collor in the window is a problem for me,
not to mention the huge mountain shore wich looks boring...



what do you guys think I should try to make it look nice?...

I was trying to make a small sized muscled man, but I had a little trouble with the chest and six pack muscles and the shading.

so can someone help and give me tips about them?

thanks for the tips I'll keep those in mind when making another character!

however how would I make those legs and arms better then? I had a littlebit of a trouble making those because they or looked to thick or looked ugly ":S
(I'm also planning on animating this character once I'm done with the sprite itself and if the sprite is to small or too narrow it will be hard for me to animate it)

nice work! I like it a lot!

I'm gonna try experimenting with the colors and size of the image. I also made a character that should matches your house what do you think of it? is it too mutch color and what about the outlines?

I'll use a larger brush but wont I get the same result if I use that one the only difference is the thicknes of the lines :S

isnt there a neat little trick I could use to make a decent start?
