Hey, y'all.
I was reading college brochures, and most say you need a laptop. I figured it'd be good to get one anyways, but here's what I'm looking for:
I'd like something between 600 and 800 dollars. The brand isn't important to me, so much as it's reputable, and I won't get screwed. I'd like something with enough power to run games like CS:S, and HL2. It doesn't need to run them full settings without lag, I'd say just medium settings.
Also, something with wireless internet.
I'm not looking for specific computers, since I don't have the money for it right now, but I will in a few months, and I was looking for some guidance.
As far as brand, any ideas? I'm looking on newegg, and there are lots of "Acer" notebooks, but I've never heard of Acer before. Are they alright?
Also, is 512 MB ram going to be enough?
Is it even possible to build a laptop from scratch, like you would a desktop system?
