Well just an update, I scaled it down to 64x64 as 256 was taking to long. I am aware of lots of artifacts and flickers that this has caused and I will try to fix them if i get time but I want to continue with the game so I will leave it like this for now as don't want to spend more than 3 months on a single game at the moment.
Hey thanks for the feedback and suggestions. Here is my attempted implementations of the suggestions. Also tweaked the face shape around a bit though I must say they are strange looking creatures
Working on a bison which I will be animating a run cycle for. Though I would see if anybody has time for some feedback on it first though as I am sure there is plenty that can be improved. Thanks
Hey, I am working on a tavern for a "game" and have designed a city guard. I have added the concept below.
And here is my pixel interpretation of the guard. I have drawn the tavern background as a standard image and then all elements which will be animated are going to be done in pixel art. As is also obvious I have done the shading as a simple checker board so that the background is not obscured.
Thanks for the feedback with regards to the shadows. As its a game it will most likely be tiled sprites so your suggestion will be useful in that regard as well. As for the floor the game is sci-fi and the room is part of a bunker so that is why the floor is metal. I will try evening out the greys so that they are less distracting as see how that works. Cheers
