You can always toy around with the squareness with some AA. Make a square just squarish. I'd be happy with that.

General Discussion / Re: Official Off-Topic Thread

Has anyone else seen these two links pop-up a lot quite recently?
http://jezebel.com/#!5785846/video-game-lets-players-slap-women
http://www.change.org/petitions/tell-walmart-dont-sell-duke-nukem-forever-with-babe-slapping-mode#?opt_new=t&opt_fb=t

Is the game sexist? How about the characters? What about the game development community? Will any of this effect it's reception (in the gaming communities) or sales?
Does this mean throwing the damsel around in Spelunky makes me sexist? If not, does sacrificing her for some loot make me sexist?

Thoughts?

I accidentally* my last doodle.

I also accidentally** the arm muscles and maybe I*** the rendering process which I will probably never**** again.

*erased
**screwed up
***also screwed up
****use

Silly references.

Is that a ... diglett? Quite a neat way to think of it. Would your version of a dugtrio just be a three-headed version of it or ... three of them.

I don't think the sky would be visible, I think some far off ground would be.

Careful of those jagged lines, they will be causing you a lot of trouble soon enough.

I kept trying at same damn tile. I couldn't make it work. Don't plan on trying again either, only because I'm too busy with "life".

That's all I had.
(Dear Mods or whomever, if you think I shouldn't post that then just nix it or ask me to remove it.)

I hope you (and others too!) can appreciate how far this has come. From being something almost pointless to something fairly impressive this has gone through quite a bit.  Good job.

Now I think that the dithering could use some solid clusters, specifically in the ocean and it's waves. The boat's wake could use quite the opposite. Play with dither AAing on that boat.

Very amazing progress, sorry I doubted you.

Pixel Art / Re: Mosquito/Moth Poem

This font does nothing for the piece. It's just letters right now. Maybe have three fonts for each part (stanza?). Start of with a more wild free lettering, then have it get more subdued, maybe even fainter (grey or something) as the poem goes on.

No crits other than that. I hope to see you spill some stuff out soon.

These are your paintings right?

McSkippy pretty much nailed it. Got the post before me.

You've got the basics of the isometric view down. You can easily push things a little bit further with some textures, that wooden (correct me if it isn't wood) looks like a striped house. Also just because you're using the isometric view doesn't mean everything has to be blocky. With a little bit of technique and practice you can have some really smooth forms.

Try making a texture for the grass, dirt and try something a little different with the wallpapered the house, maybe something that looks ... wooden? Or not at all. I'm just not a fan of the stripes.

instead of chatting, you could always post an update when you bump your thread. it's like 10 pixels tall and you've already got two nice edits.
Agreed
Heh. As I said the project is cancelled, but I always like to respond when people say stuff. You should be thanking me for taking the time to respond, not sniping at me for chatting!
As a small status update: I forgot about the drawing yesterday. Maybe today...

EDIT: Since when are members supposed to try to moderate the forums?!?
I don't think we need to be thanking you for taking the time to respond. You've received some great edits and done nothing with them. You really should have thanked those people with some progress. That's really the best way to thank someone for taking THEIR time. Instead of taking your time to reply to everyone go take some time to work on this piece and post when you've got something. There's no character limit so you can work on that thing for a week then come back and reply to everyone in one post. It's a really efficient way of doing things IMO.
There's only so much other people can do for you. So just ATTEMPT something and take into consideration all the advice you've got. THEN you should post something.

Where I'm from we are expected not just to follow the rules but encourage others to do so. That's something my grandfather taught me at a really young age.
Where did you say the project was canceled?

@Cure, I got your back bro.
