So I drew this landscape of sorts today with the intention of using it as a main menu for a game. I think I did alright in general but there's a few things I'm concerned about and I'm not sure how to go about fixing it (if it needs to be fixed).
1. The dithering in the sky. I use one pattern throughout the whole piece and maybe it gets too repetitive in the cloudy areas. I may just be paranoid though.
2. What do I do with all the free space in the bottom areas? Do I even need to fill it out? (Because as things stand most of it is probably going to filled with the title.)
3. Do the button and title placements look natural? Do they screw with the "balance" of things? (The excessive black space stretching horizontally is there in case the user presses 'load' and the menu needs to display a list of save files)
4. The point of the landscape and the placement of stuff is to give the viewer a sense of scale and "awe". Not sure if I achieved that.
I'm rather new to this whole main menu design thing and advice would be greatly appreciated!
(Title and buttons arent drawn yet because I don't completely have the theme aspect of the game down yet, I swear its not because I'm lazy.)
