here's one where i fixed the arm problem. i'll be working on some shooting animations and maybe an enemy animation soon. if i flesh this out, i can turn it into a game project.
trouble is the only game programmer i know/work with is never around and always busy with other stuff.
if anyone wants to take a crack at it, feel free. :)

old - new

changed it from four to six frames. worth it?

still some arm dislocation i guess

oh yeah.. haha. i forgot, i added a darker shade of blue, and probably some other stuff too.
meh...it's a variation of the arne palette, i guess.

working (yet again) with arne's beautiful palette, and getting some inspiration from the works created with it, i've made up a little platformer mock up.
and a run animation for what would be one of the main characters.
if only i could program games...

May I partially disagree with you Ben... These tools give great anti-aliasing when using alpha transparancy in the engine. Also, it turns out quite nice when you draw at 200% - 400% size and then shrink it to the desired boundaries. However, after that a lot of manual retouchings may need to be made, and sometimes this may even get MORE time consuming, but it DOES result in nearly perfect anti aliasing.

yeah, but you're not drawing at the pixel level. it's a shortcut, and the artist isn't creating the piece pixel by pixel. i strongly disagree.

and wait, how would the shadows and light balls so perfectly blending in the background of the forum? isn't that a sign of photoshop blur, and transparency? or am i off base here?
unless he's working on a canvas that color..

oh i get it. yeah, i guess you're right.
my biggest problem with watercolor has been over doing things, and i was just afraid of it being too messy. i wanted a few detail spots, and then one focal point (the eye).
overall, i'll try again with a portrait of hunter s thompson.

face and hand work best because of the integration of the pigments and page.  these rest feels a little too wash-with-a-color.  nicely done in general though.
i wish i had a better camera or something, because it's not nearly that washed out. however, i'm not one to make excuses. so, thanks for the compliment. i don't usually get around to doing very much "fine arty" type of work, so it's nice to hear positive feedback.

painting of hemingway with a rifle.

i wish the colors didn't turn all washed out and stuff in the picture, because they are a lot more vibrant and alive in the actual piece.

that's understandable. honestly i just try my hand at designing tilesets and stuff, but i don't really know of a program that lets me do the same thing yours does.
for some reason, for me the fullscreen mode doesnt' work right. like, my mouse is in a strange position the whole time. shrug.
anyway, good work on the tiles by the way.
they destroy the ones i worked on a while back.
