Pixel Art / [C+C] Office guy walk animation

Hey  :)

I worked on a little walk animation yesterday. I am quite happy with the result, but there is probably still a lot to improve.

I can't really choose which one I like best. Any suggestions to improvement would be appreciated, thank you  :hehe:

You will learn as you work with pixel art  :)

I can't draw for shit when it comes to actual drawing but I still started drawing with pixels. I am still just a beginner and I have problems with lightning for example and alot of other basic things that experienced pixel artists can point out and correct immediately.

In my opinion you don't need any experience from drawing other stuff, as you will learn and progress with pixel art.

For your tree problem I suggest that you look up other peoples drawings and works and try to learn from that, That's what I always do. And of course get help from this forum  ;D

I wish you good luck and all the best  :hehe:

So here's the latest update

I tried to make it more simple as you guys said, but without copying Jun's too much. I kinda felt like I did everything worse compared to Jun's

I see what you mean by your edition it looks much more plain but yet amazing, but I kinda want it to be more detailed. Right now I am a little confused on which direction to take.. For the game it self I have ideas and thoughts on how I want it to look. The games setting I want is it to be is medieval (except from the girl) and kinda gloomy with rusty things and old shacks and stuff.

Right now I feel unclear on what to do next, maybe I have to change things around a bit, the only thing I have is a script and ideas.

Anyway. thanks again for your feedback guys, you seem very professional and have some incredible talent in pixel art. I'll see if I can work more on my piece later today  :)

I think I've managed to transform my pillowy cloud into something that looks more like a rock!  ;D

It is supposed to end up a 2D sidescrolling game, but right now I'm just drawing a wallpaper or something I can keep working on.
I also just have to say that your drawing absolutley stunns me, it looks amazing and gives out this fantastic mood and feeling with the lightning of the campfire

Never in my life could I imagine how "hard" (sorry dont ban me) it was to draw a rock..

Okay a very quick update.

The term pillow shading is something I have never heard about before but I looked up some examples and I can clearly see I have done that mistake. I edited the shading of the tree (not the leaves) and the rock, and I think it looks a bit better. Am I going the right way or does it still look like bad shading?

Thank you so much for the replies! ;D

Here is a little update without the Gradient and darker background with a rock added.

I feel like it lacks details without the gradient.

At the moment I am struggeling with the rest of the background and lightning :yell:

I would like to say that your background looks absolutley amazing, it looks very pure and beautiful!

There's just one thing that kinda bugs me with the background and that is the shadow of the trees on the walls infront of them. The shadows of the other objects streches away from the camera as does the shadows from the trees to the houses, but the shadows from the trees to the walls looks like its coming kinda towads the camera. To me, those shadows look a bit unatural. Other than that I think it's amazing piece of art  ;D
