I definatly see what you mean about the rubbery look in the leg i tried to fix it a bit as well as the positioning of the head and chest....
still looks off I think though... as for the shading I want it to be well shaded because it is intended to be used for a top down mmorpg style game where you start nude and equip clothes etc...
As for the punch... I noticed some little thing going on where it moved back... i changed this and made it moved forward less so I think it does look a lot more like a step now... and the range I dont think is a problem based on the way gameplay is intedended to work...

*Update

Here's the animation so far, came out better than I thought but seems to still lack power IMO, and the climax frame still looks off to me.

So i've been working on this base that I had from a while ago, right now I am attempting three different attack animations for the base... a jab, a straight, and a high kick.... I've done the jab from the side and it looks pretty nice but I'm still looking for CC if you see anything... manly I need help with this kick I am trying t just animate the final frame or climax frame and then work from there but cannot seem to get it right something seems off about the way the weight is balanced or maybe the way the body is stretched im not sure...  http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/fighter-doing-high-kick-illustration-32871502.jpg this is my reference...

and   as you can tell im also having trouble with shading and portraying form on the kick as well idk if it's because my linework is off to begin with though.

Been working on a side stance but I'm having trouble with the weight distribution, can't see to get it right.  Keep in my shading is rough, I plan to do that once I am happier with the actual shape.  My reference is this http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/1237/qqwq.jpg or this http://www.angelfire.com/ma/jfjkd/images/onguard.jpg but the second one doesn't have the direction I've been working on.  Also this is the standing view.
Here is a newer version I've been working on:

Okay, although it is for a Naruto game and the scrolls never are torn really I decided to go ahead and go for a more rustic look.  Big improvement I think, however still not sure if I'm happy with it, something looks weird to me, and I think it has something to do with the shape/shading of the dowel rolled part.  Also haven't added rips to bottom part, and some shading is mirrored but i plan on varying it a little.

Conceptually yes I like that idea a lot, and definitely I will give it an attempt.  But in the meantime, I am more so looking for CC on the actual shape and shading of the scroll, basically if there was nothing on it.  Should have mentioned that in the original post.  But no the less thanks for the idea, opens my head more.

The actual avatar part is a WIP, still rough.  But the rest I was just looking for CC on looks kinda bland/flat.  Maybe the lack of shading, but with a highlight it looked wierd as well.  Let me know what you think guys!

Fighting Stance i've been working on.  Mainly need help on the initial stance, not the standing frame but the fighting stance frame ( I just added the standing frame for reference and to show the transition).  Animation is just quick and yet to be polished more.

New version, do you think it looks smoother?  Having trouble with a smooth head bob on a small scale.

Been working on a base for an Naruto inspired game.  I think I am happy with the run animation so far, but CC is welcome.  Something seems choppy about the walking animation; however.  Help me out guys!
Walking
Running
Standing for reference
*Haven't done shadow on walking yet
