Well let's see. The brightness of the background kinda doesn't agree with the darkness of the character. Don't know if you are attempting to make a game-like picture, if you are then you'd need to figure out a tilesize and try to work so that the tiles can be used in multiple ways. (this is so that you get the feeling that the graphics are constrained by certain rules.)
Because the green and the brown on the rocks is about the same lightness, the rocks look more like a road than the cliff they are likely trying to symbolize. Using some perspective (smaller rocks at the bottom, larger rocks at the top) and values (lighter at the top darker on bottom) probably help.
Still regarding the tiles, the flowers are really close to the cliff edge, kinda makes it look odd.
The road is nicely subdued I think, it's flatness makes it inviting to walk on.
