1. Activities/Challenges
I personally love challenges and activities. I feel they're great for building skill, and they really help when you're lost for inspiration. I've been thinking about some activites and I think it'd be fun to implement a weekly(?) type challenge or activity.
2. Forum Liberties
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by liberties. Perhaps it's how I feel about the rights of the members, or something like that. Like I stated before, I think that a lot of the power should belong to the members, since they are really what we're moderating for. Yeah, it may sound like a cheesy political line, but it's true.
3. Tribunals/Judging Offences
I don't think we'll have a whole lot of trouble in the mean-time with too many offences, however when the final version of pixelation is put in place (or at least the full forum) there may be a need for a system. I think the three strikes policy is a good one. Most of you know what it is, but to clarify, here's my idea. If there's an offence (not like, a joke here or there, but something taboo) here's what I propose is done.
1) The user is warned, but in a laid back fashion.
If the user continues their actions...
2) The user recieves a PM about their actions. (If a certain reply/post is the problem, that post is edited or deleted, which is to be decided by the mods.)
And If the user continues...
3) A vote takes place. The user pleads their case, and the users can vote whether or not the party in question is guilty, however it won't be a poll. You will submit your reasons via a reply, or perhaps a PM (depending on the situation). If the user is found guilty, they may recieve a short, temporary ban (perhaps somewhere around 24 hours.)
If the user comes back and continues their actions, the mods and whoever is elected will decide what to do with that certain member.
4. Fun/Attitude
I have no problem with having fun. I think this whole forum should be about having fun. That's my attitude towards this small community. I don't think it should be an all out off-topic party, but I think we should have some fun. If I wanted strictly business, I'd go to eatpoo. I say that people should be able to joke around without getting penalized, however it shouldn't get out of control. My general attitude is fairly laid back. Unless you're offending someone, spamming, or doing something wholly inappropriate, I say joking around is fine.
5. Critique Giving
I feel that the critiques are really the main reason we're here. At the old pixelation, a piece would get tons of replies, but most of the replies had nothing to do with the piece itself. Many of the posts were "awesome, is this for a game?". That's not gonna fly here. Unless you're giving praise (meaningful and specific praise) or a critique (or in some cases, a joke) you probably shouldn't be posting. Really think about whether or not you're contributing to the thread if you make a reply. If the answer is no, perhaps you should go back and really look at the piece.
6. Following the rules
Although there are no rules in place at the moment, I feel that the "unwritten rules" are important. In order to keep control, following the rules is important. If I'm elected, I'll play a huge part in creating a system of rules that you feel are important. I don't want another board where there are countless numbers of spam posts.
That's my stance for the most part. To sum it up:
I want you guys to feel at home here, and at the same time have some fun. Make a few critiques, crack a few jokes, it's all good. Just don't go overboard with it.
