Could anyone help me with an walking animation?

Ok here's a link because I don't seem to get this img/img thing.
Like just point me in the right direction, I'd prefer it if you didn't use my sprite because then I'm probably just gonna copy it // I'm really lazy. But like point me in the right direction I don't really know how to make an walking animation with 2px feet.

I made you a little example based off these basic walk poses from the animators survival kit
http://courses.cs.washington.edu/courses/cse464/12wi/assignments/assignment_4/images/contact_method.jpg
I dont know how experienced you are at walk cycles, but a key thing to notice there is that the pelvis moves up and down in the different poses. In my example I keep the legs at 2 pixels tall for the 2 lower poses and stretch the legs to 3 pixels tall for the higher poses. This vertical movement helps it read as a walk, and the extra pixel of height in 2 of the poses gives you more room to work with too.
and sorry I dont have any software to save gifs right now

Yep. For really small sizes, vertical movement is the best way to convey a walk. It will also give you room to do cool things like making the plume bob up and down

Yes, and when I do, my whole screen jumps around and is filled with teal and I have to use the scroll bars to look for the actual art?

Id suggest not working on that teal background too. Just because your character blends in with it so much that its really hard to see the animation without zooming in. Use a background that makes him pop out so you can see the animation more easily.

Because when it expands, the actual comment expands with it and the screen goes crazy. Compound that with the fact that you have to zoom to a very significant size in order to see the animation (due to your choice of background color), makes it a nuisance.

I feels a little slow. But I think thats more so from the speed its animating at, and not due to excess frames, as far as I can tell. Also he seems to bounce around a little too much. Try to make his movements seem a little more controlled. I mean, dont make him feel static, but make his body move in a clearer direction rather than bouncing around. Id do a more indepth analysis but Im feeling light headed right now, but thats what I notice just looking at it.

On the last hit (is that two hits or three? Is it swing down, swing up, stab, or swing down, draw back, stab?), the shield goes forwards.
Try it yourself. Get up, do a swing. Does the opposite site of your body go forward or back when you swing?

I think it looks much better now.
Now the problem is that anticipation for the third hit. The second swing serves as both hit and anticipation, and I think it makes the third hit harder to read, because it comes directly off of another hit. For me it looks more like swing down, then drag it upwards to prepare for second swing, then the stab is the second hit.
