Programmatically generated a 256 colors palette today (modified a NES palette generator I wrote some time ago) containing an index reserved for transparency, 15 shades of uniform gray from black to white and 16 non-linear chroma variations with 15 linear luma levels each:
The purpose of this palette is to serve me as a solid starting point when picking colors for new pixel art pieces and quickly testing ranges with different hue shifts without having to manually redefine all colors each time.
Tested that new palette in a quick alien scout vessel for todays #pixel_dailies:
I've had the inclination to do some cute Rainbow Islands-like stuff lurking in my skull for a while.
Do it. It is great fun and generates happiness.
Neat. I guess that means Taito made Rainbow Islands?
Yes and the tune in Rainbow Islands sounds very similar(different timing though) to "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" from the Wizard Of Oz...
Dennis, pretty cool! Although the tin man isn't supposed to smile, and the scarecrow also looks kinda smart
...they are all somewhat happy in this scene, the lion is only scared of copyright infringement lawyers because of the tune thing.
