I actually do forms before I start: they never seem to help though.

Did that last night, but didn't want to edit it into my post: I have to leave soon, but I'll study your fix (esp on our right arm) when I get back.

I don't know what angle you want the game itself at, but the trees seem to disagree with the angle the rest of it is. Like, you shouldn't be able to see the 'tops' of the trees (if that's what the blank green stuff is) if the space is flat.

Thank you for the advice. I'll pick up those books you suggested and try to kick my practicing up as notch.  :)

here is a small edit I made after looking over a few references.

Anatomy. It's the reason I quit art all those times. But I can't quit this time, I have a game to make...
I've been told by Landshark I should give up on realism altogether. Metaru's told me to stop being lazy and learn from my mistakes. I can't do either of those. I've tried countless approaches, books, websites, references... but nothing seems to be working.
Does someone have the secret formula to drawing people from any angle? Please?  :'(

Any ideas on how to make it less crowded (besides 'less spikes'? The way the dex is I need spikes covering most of the body...)
Anatomy/color help is also appreciated.   :)

I understand where you're coming from, but I really need practice with larger pieces, as most of mine just come out looking like oekaki.
Also, whenever I try to make a more dynamic pose, my lack of anatomy skillz gets in the way, causing me to screw it up big time and it takes forever to fix. I do see what you mean, though.
Any suggestions on how to make the pose better without stretching my skill level too much?

The small one is my old version. The unfinished outline is my new one.

Yes, I know I'm terrible at anatomy.  :-[

But yeah... it's for the PJ weekly challenge, and I'm remaking a Pokemon mix (no parts of the pokemon used, actually) I did a while ago, which happened to be my first submission.
I don't think I've improved much honestly.
Crit anyone?

they look more like Megaten stuff, but "let me show you my demonic atrocities/personas" doesn't have the same ring.

The crotch area is bugging me so much on this guy. ><

The dress on this one....

and the legs on this one need fixing.
