Pixel Art Feature Chest / Re: See rat run. Run rat, run.

That's pretty sweet, are you going to add any highlights in the fur or just leave it like this? I mean it looks great right now.

The Sine wave motion on the tail and everything is great.

Do they have to be so small? They look like the super tiny robots that shoot at you in Gradius  ::)

Try at least making them something that fills up at least a 32 x 32 box

I wanted to try to make something similar, I probably failed.

Even this seems pretty damn small...

Look at this example for an idea on keeping things readable at such a small scale...could probably use more contrast on some colors...oh well

And who cares about how engines work?
Might help if you needed more of an idea on what parts to add.

We all learned that in school.
We did? :P

And you usaully don't wanna pay much attention to anything non-pixel art related that they say.
Why? Isn't that kinda condescending? Advice is advice, right?

The colors could 'pop' a-lot more.

Also- the tiny machines are really hard to read. Try more contrast

Also if you going 'steampunk' I can't really say this reminds me of anything but mechs or big robots. if you really need it to be steam-punk it'd work on that.

That dithering on the tree leaves is bothersome, it doesn't look like leaves, it's almost reminiscent of the MS spray can...Almost.

The shading on the trunk of the tree makes it look like it's made of flat polygons at angles. Like it's made of a 6 sided cylinder or something.

Try some higher value colors..highlights.

Also the general shape of the tree leaves just looks ...weird..like theres a big random chunk sticking out at us in the very middle

The main character is the best, but the face and the arm bother me. He sort-of has a nose, but he doesn't (maybe it's a style thing, but I just don't like it.), and perhaps you could move the eyes up a pixel. The shading on the arm looks ok, but it could be better

I can barely even tell it's a person, let alone holding two guns...Is it a person? It looks like some kind of bug-man (after zooming in four or five times as it's unreadable)

whats with the shading on his stomach...does he have a ball for a stomach?

And the colors...oh my.

Why are you working against such a saturated background, anyways?

Go practice pixelating references, you should be able to get a better grasp of colors then.

Also, the sprite is so small, I don't know why your trying to shade it so much, it just makes it completely unrecognizable...

Is everyone supposed to be all super midgetey?

Anyways, good luck, I think you need to go practice some general art.

aregon810- could the NES even display those colors? It's way-way too desaturated at any rate.

I want to see a Advance wars type game on iphone using the entire brigade. NOW.  :y:

You were able to give these models some soul I feel most 3d models don't come close to having

Pixel Art / Re: Frog joke WIP

The lighting looks upside down on the frog to me (he is also only two different shades of lighting.), also I would not recommend the spray-can tool as it is better for you to place pixels your self

The lilpad + frog also seem out of perspective with the water, seemingly as-if they we're floating at an angle over the water

There are some strange pixels between the frogs front feet and belly

the lilpad could use some shimmering spots if you really wanted
