Pixel Art / Re: Them thar hills...

Pretty neat concept you got and it's fairly well rendered but there's still a lot of work that could be done in my opinion.

I kind of think the two styles clash a bit, the large pixel people and the regular sized hills and clouds. One way you could possibly tie this in better would be to make the details of the hills with this large pixel brush/size and even shade the clouds with large blocks of color. I'm not really sure how you will want to do this but I think it deserves some attention.

Secondly as VictorR mentioned the colors could use some work. I made an edit of some stuff I think you could do with the piece to bring more life into it. (I realize my some of my colors came out similar to VictorR's without looking at his piece. It's just how my colors turn out usually).

I hope this can be of some use.

That looks really good Gas. I like the "black and white" with a few colors to draw your attention in. It's really hard to critque without image zoom though. What's with the brown rounder squares/circles on the side? Is it a film strip? I'm not sure having those colored like that help much because due to their saturation it kind of draws your attention to the side too. Anyhow great work.

The grass definitely looks a bit better now but it's still looks very tiled, but I have a few ideas on how you could fix that.

First if you work with colors a bit more and get a bit less contrast in the tiles I think that would help take away the eye sore of obvious tiling. You could perhaps also make another grass tile or some small bushes, shrubs, trees, flowers, whatever to add to break that up a bit.

I suggest you look into your colors choices a bit more too because as it looks right now your colors are more or less pure green, with full saturation. Try giving the darker colors a bit of blue or you could try a bit more of a brownish look depending on your preference and then for the highlights why not try adding a bit more yellow in it?

I almost would suggest trying 2 color grass tile for now until you have a feel for the shapes of the grass and then use some subtle highlights to bring out the shape.

Curious also why you choose 13x13 tiles? I'm not that familiar with tile sizes but I thought they generally followed more of a 16x16 and 32x32 approach.

Looks pretty good so far. Taking into account what was already mentioned about perspective. I would have to say lower the contrast on the grass a little bit. It's really making me dizzy and busying the picture too much. Loosing some of the other details in it. Maybe try some shadows on the tree and character for a bit of added depth.

Looks pretty good so far, though I do think where the tiles meet it looks a bit weird. Try to make it look a little smoother (the tiling) and as mentioned add one or two more grass tiles for variation.

I think the colors could use some work because as of now they look a bit bland. Kind of look like just a straight green. I would suggest added a bit of blue/purple to your darkest shade and maybe a bit of yellow to your highlight. I always try to aim a bit more towards a yellow-green for grass than just a straight green. Hope that helps  :)

I just got back into pixeling so I'm a bit rusty still and see everyone's improved so much. Decided to take a stab at Dogmeat's cat lineart but removed some of the extras cause I wanted the overall picture less crowded.
