Pixel Art / Pixel art from my twitch sessions
« on: March 09, 2016, 10:10:14 pm »
I've recently decided to do something with my twitch channel and started streaming some pixeling.
here are some of the images that came out of it:

if you want to see the process for this one (the first one I saved) go here:

p.s. awesome forum theme!

Yeah adding outlines as darkers shades of the sprite colors, or some selective outlining would bring the sprite into a new level. Animations look good. sword looks a bit stiff though

I have a few pixeling videos online. the most recent ones are star wars themed. I hope that's ok. I just wanted to do some tributes. So, enjoy them!

General Discussion / Re: new game released - rgb pixel bot

I'm really hoping that you were playing that on an iOS device, because we have solved that issue and resubmited to both stores. the app store just takes a bit more time to aprove the change.

thank you for the review.
Collecting characters with score did cross our mind, like in "timberman", but we thought some people just might want to play with watever character from the get go

General Discussion / new game released - rgb pixel bot
« on: June 30, 2015, 11:50:14 am »
Hey guys, a game I worked one was just released. You can get it for free for your iOS phone or Android, and very soon for the windows phone as well.
its a skill game, but I did everything in pixel art, and we "wrapped" the game around with a fake handheld console we decided to call "indot digiboy 3000".

Google Play - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.indot.RgbPixelBot&hl=en

App Store - https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/rgb-pixel-bot/id1003746543?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D2

I hope the mods don't mind me posting, but I only did cause it was done in pixel art.

anyway, we are going to add more characters so the game will be updated, so suggestions are welcome.

well you clearly can "art", so its a matter of refining your technique.
As Seiseki said, there are a lot of "brushy" strokes, that could help provide texture to the scene, since its such a small image, you wanna use all you can.
there are a few double pixels here and there that make my eye twitch a little, but again, thats a matter of cleaning up your drawing.
Keep at it! you'll get better and better

Pixel Art / Re: Female Link
« on: April 14, 2015, 01:19:20 pm »
I was expecting links to females...

still, I wasn't disappointed. this looks really nice. The character is really bold and clear.
the outline on the vases is a little odd, because you use such a small area of brighter highlight that you might as well just go black all around, even though that might make them stand out too much.
maybe add another shade?

No, thats true. The outline could be a darker tone of the wall color or even a bounced light color, if there's any.
