on: March 27, 2007, 07:06:13 pm
Product of way too much Depeche mode.

I'm sure there's plenty I could do with it right now, but you know, wanna get help early on.

Is his head tilted to one side?  Because otherwise it doesn't match the perspective on the body.  Disturbing piece.

Well, it was supposed to be turned a bit, but I do see how the perspective is wacky. I think the horns are what's throwing it off, maybe :O

It's not the horns.  It looked that way before the horns were added.  Though they are adding to it.

sweet. ;D The legs perspective/angling seems off especially the (our) left one. Also, he looks like he's wearing shin guards, and the feet looks kinda awkward. The mouth at the crotch looks a little odd, almost like pubic hair :-[The lines on the stomach, look like the lines from your ribcage, which means they should be on the chest, unless they are supposed to be abs..or just weird :-[ I am really diggin' that pallete though

I'm not going to pretend this is a small task either; certainly none of us here can claim to have accomplished it.  it's the realm of masters.  still, it's what we all have to try for.

Tried to fix the legs, and added more detail to the face.

I think the transition between shading areas, both on the body and on the background, makes it look unfinished. Either add dithering, or an extra color or pair of between each shade.

The purple on the lower part of the background makes it appear closer to the eye than the rock (might have to do with the creature being dark, the rock light and the background dark again, plays games with depth perception).

The texture on the rock doesn't appear to allow support for the creature's feet. Maybe add some areas where it would be feasible for it to place its feet on.

Shading on the neck, lower torso and legs seems incongruent. I recommend trying to simplify the volumes, attempting to make them appear more cilindrical through shading.

These points addressed would make this disturbing although interesting piece better :)
