[WIP] Brock Samson (of Venture Bros.)

on: January 18, 2015, 07:32:35 am
this is just a little thing I'm doing as a request for a buddy. let me know what you think, I'll be editing this post as I work on it.

when I freeform a pixel art character I like to work on the face/head details first, and then use that to sort of figure out what the scale is going to be for the rest of the body.

at this point I'm just kind of blocking in where I think things will go. nothing is permanent yet.

C+C appreciated. :)

The face contains a lot of "pixel noise". Tons of highly contrasted pixels close together, some banding, etc. Try searching the forum for theory about "pixel clusters".

I like the energy of the piece. Should work well :)

I honestly can't tell if I actually fixed anything, or just moved stuff around...

I already know the arm is a giant mess. I'm trying to fix it, but i'm having a lot of trouble with it...

Yeah, that's better for sure. Maybe try to eliminate the banding on the chin?
