Hello majestic1. I think this work is alright, but you could certainly do better. Do you have a particular intent with learning pixel art? I've always found that it helps when a new pixel artist starts small, say 32x32, and learns the basics of line and shading before tackling much larger works.
You may be tempted to cut corners, such as with the use of feathered brushes, but I must make it clear that it does not put you in a good light. No disrespect, but this forum is dedicated to pixel-art methodology, and that's what people are here to share and teach. If people seem like they are being mean, I would hope that you can appreciate why as many of us share certain appreciable expectations that allow us to give you useful advice.
Good luck, and consider adding more detail and working smaller.
