Noko and Ptoing Collab

on: August 21, 2005, 09:18:54 pm
Noko the ellusive and me are doing one of them Checkerboard collabs. 320x240 with 40x40 tiles.

Anyway, here is the first tile.
There are no ugly colours, only ugly combinations of colours.

Smooth use of the edit post powers! Haha.

It's looking as enigmatic as ever, interesting colour selection. I remember the complex palette rules that were in place last time, like you can add a certain number of colours for every new tile. Are there any such details like this we should know about to fully appreciate it?

Looking forward to this piece developing!

It's one tile so far! A good one, though! Hope this goes fast and good. Remember that when pix comes back, so does our collab!

SHEESH >:O

added 1 new colour.

istvan: We decided to go 32 colours max and not add more than 4 colours max each tile.

Bootyful. The left eye looks out of place, though.

I added a darker colour and noko will most likely use it to edit his old tile, so the eyes will look ok :D

Dang, that's freakin awesome!  :o

When's this stuff comin as a challenge? I would definitly enter that! ;) Downloading the updated image, tweaking my part, sending it in. Gosh, that would be awesome! Could be like, as you enter with your contribution it is automatically added and every row is like 5 contributions wide before dropping down to make a long thin image... *wanders of a bit, finds lost, got lost, lost lost... 'Mm, Reality', snaps out*... oh yeah by the way!

Nice freaking picture so far guys! Not only do you manage to do something complex and beautiful while retaining the style, you also manage to shift in and out to get a nice mix of styles that's your own! Excellent work guys ;D

Nice colors on the fruit :)

Based on my tiny knowledge of light source I could be way wrong here but shouldn't the highlight on the nose be a bit more on the top of the nose so it's consistent with how the shadow hits the bottom of the nose? But as I said, I could be way of here on how to implement an improvement, but something about the light seems odd. :D

It would be cool if you took a shade tone from the leaves on the tree and added some depth to the leave on the plant, would look neat ;D

So far looking real good. I love the eyes and mouth for some reason.. it reminds me of one of my teachers.. this big fat 60 year old woman. She loves tootsie rolls.

Some things I dont like about it is that everything looks really flat. The monster has no depth at all. I dont know if that's the style you're going for or what. The other thing I dont like is the shading on the branch. It just looks like basic bands of color with no depth to it either.

Anyway, depth. Yeah thats whats bugging me.

no we're picking it up when this finishes ( went quite a long while after the plasma guys if I remember correctly), since this seems to BE Pixelation now. But this has to finish first, and it ain't going fast enough! Work, plebs!
