Pixel Art / Building Cross Section [CC]
« on: July 19, 2018, 04:53:32 pm »
Building cross section.  Looking for any feedback, except note that this is for tilemap for a game so that is why I don't think I can do the ceiling tiles in true 1 point perspective.

Planning on adding more to the building (elevator, stairs, more than 1 room a floor) but wanted to get the frame down.

Devlogs & Projects / Survive The Day

Whistle While You Work!

Working on adding more animations for Tom the Janitor lately.

Survive The Day is my game I've been working on for a while about surviving the office work-life, or workday.

I have gotten a ton of help from people giving me feedback and advice in the forums here.  Thank you so much to anyone who has commented in the past years.  It wouldn't be looking this good without your help!

Pixel Art / [CC] Spheres
« on: October 06, 2017, 08:09:27 pm »
Areas to improve?  I have no clue how a sphere's shadow ontop of another sphere should look and couldn't find a reference.

I took several shortcuts/cheats as I didn't have the time to commit: ellipse tool (GIMP), copy/paste spheres, rotate tool (on an ellipse) to create the big shadow).

I'm learning to draw right now so thought I would try to convert to pixel art:

Pixel Art / [WIP][CC] Small Spaceship Interior
« on: October 01, 2017, 08:25:43 pm »

WIP especially on the shape of the exterior of the ship.  But any feedback welcome on the characters and interior of the ship, such as instruments and panels.

Thanks

Pixel Art / Grumpy Ol Dave Walk Cycle [C&C]
« on: May 06, 2017, 03:10:42 am »
Haven't been on here in a while so thought I'd post a walking cycle I just finished.  Started with another sprite's walk cycle so may have seen something similar from me a while back.

Spritesheet:

Animations in 4 directions: (slowed down a bit)

In play screen capture:

(may slow him down a bit more than shown here)

Any comments or feedback appreciated.

Thanks!

Pixel Art / [C&C]Janitor again? New Palette
« on: November 15, 2016, 02:14:14 am »
"This janitor again?"  I know, you are probably sick of him.

After having troubles making a unified color palette a while back I took a break from this and worked on other things.  Now after re-reading (and re-reading again) color and palette tutorials I gave it another try:

Does it blend together better?  (I think so/hope so—previous image at bottom)

Main Question: Does my palette have any issues this far?  Thought I would ask before continuing in the same method.

I may try other hue's for the tiles once I add more colors—maybe try unsaturated yellows and greens—but not sure if I did well in branching out to the tile colors.  I feel like I only know how to make 2 directional ramps and not sure how to branch out into the browns/greys/beige/etc types of colors needed.  (note: tiles got a bit messed up with all the recoloring and may remove details from them later—focusing on color choice atm)

Here's the last time I posted on these forums and the last image, if curious on where it has come from:

Pixel Art / Need help on limping (walk) animation
« on: October 09, 2016, 02:47:51 am »
Just bought Aseprite today and trying to make a walking animation with a limp (due to hurt leg).  Could use some pointers as have been trying various edits.

Sprite sheet:

In Scenery:

Should I try having injured leg swing out in front of other leg?  Less upper body movement?

Pixel Art / [WIP]Campfire, Tent, and guy
« on: September 17, 2016, 04:55:52 am »
Just started making some art for a little zombie shooting game.  Not sure how I feel about what I made so far:

What do you think about the colors?  Should fire be brighter or redder?  Planning on practicing drawing/animating flames later...
